Kayaking for Kids??
Hello to all. I live in Monterey, California. I have never Kayaked before but am looking in to it. I am very comfortable in the water having surfed for almost 20 years and plunged in to many a swift rivers in my climbing days. My question is, what kind of a kayak should I get to begin kayaking with my five year old son?
Here's some more info in order for you to answer my question. I definitely want to take my son out on the Monterey Bay to interact with the marine life and to view his abode from the marine perspective. But having bought a book on kayaking, I'm also interested in tour-kayaking (?), where one can go on multiple day kayaking/camping trips.
Is there a kayak out there that can sit both of us, carry enough equipment to go camping, and be used in different waters?
Every time I go to REI.com or somewhere else, the inventories never mention anything about seating kids.
Any info would be appreciated.

Any Tips?
Just started river kayaking and I'm looking into gear. Totally new to the sport and it's hard to know where to start. So much to choose from. Already have a helmet on the way. Next on my list is a pfd. Suggestions?
